About:

Jason Darling

Jason Darling owns and manages Darling Forestry, LLC.  I grew up in the Mason, MI area and received my bachelor’s degree in Forestry and a professional certificate in Watershed Management from Michigan State University. During my time at MSU, I was actively involved in the Forestry Department helping initiate and organize maple syrup production. I also accelerated my knowledge of the Christmas tree industry by contributing in several research projects dealing with nutrient demands in Frasier fir. I have worked at various Forestry agencies at the state, federal and private levels throughout Michigan and have the experience to meet any and all of your land management needs.  I specialize in several aspects of land management.  I have many years of experience managing large scale Christmas tree plantations and tailored skills managing woodlots for maple syrup production.  The primary focus of my experience has been within the traditional field of Forestry. I have spent my career inventorying forested land, marking timber, writing timber sale proposals and timber sale administration.

Realizing the ecological importance of watershed protection I chose to enhance my knowledge about watershed management by seeking out a professional watershed certificate through Michigan State University.  Maintaining a healthy forested system or grassland is essential to ensure watershed integrity and water quality; I have the utilities to install watershed buffers via grasses or planted trees. Forest management activities have the potential to hinder watershed quality, however if you seek the professional assistance of Darling Forestry, LLC you can sustainably manage your land while ensuring the overall health of your ecosystem.

I sincerely appreciate your time and want to thank you for visiting my website.  I encourage you to contact me with any questions about your land management needs. I would love to have a personal conversation about your land management goals and objectives.

Sincerely,

Jason Darling

Mission Statement:

Darling Forestry, LLC

From peace and quiet time in the clean fresh air, to exploring active wildlife and lush vegetation, you enjoy your property in a variety of ways.  Have you considered the investment made in your land and how to best see a return?

Darling Forestry’s mission is to offer a suite of land management services which can restore the health of your acreage and increase the enjoyment that it offers. I have helped landowners like you create recreation trails, install wildlife food plots, manage property aesthetics, improve woodlot health, increase woodlot value, re-forest fields and natural areas, enhance wildlife habitat, and reduce the costs of owning land.

Just as you remove undesirable weeds and unhealthy plants from your garden, your forested land needs attention as well. Darling Forestry can determine what intrusive species are ruining the value of your forested property and offer solutions to those problems. Unfortunately, a recent increase in foreign plants and pests has created many challenges in maintaining healthy ecosystems. Without proper long term vision, goals and management objectives, you may experience substantial tree and habitat loss as a result of invasive insects, diseases, and other health threats.

Whether you own 1 acre or 3,000 acres, Darling Forestry has the tools and expertise necessary to meet YOUR specific needs. We can discuss your land ownership objectives and find ways to help you technically and financially accomplish your goals.

By way of thorough analysis and proper, on-going care, your property can be managed to meet your preferences while vastly increasing the enjoyment and appreciation of your investment. If you would like to discuss managing your property to its fullest potential, please explore the contents of the web site.  My contact information can be found on the Contact Information page.
